The OrahSydney programme for men partners with Momentum to offer a transformative year-of-learning combined with 8 life-changing days in our homeland, Israel. Quoted as being "a boot camp for living awesome lives guided by Jewish values", the programme is led in Sydney by Craig Marcus and exposes men to be inspired by world-class Jewish educators, Israeli thought-leaders and local community members. It is designed for the partners of our women's programme so that together as parents they are inspired by the same strong Jewish values which in turn they pass on to their children. We believe strongly that this is the future for Jewish continuity.
The year-long journey nurtures the soul whilst also building a strong connection to both Israel and other like-minded men within our Sydney community. Our men discover how to lead a more meaningful life guided by their Jewish values and rich heritage which strengthens their family, empowers them in the workplace and engages them within local community.
Like our women's journey the prerequisites in order to participate include:
Priority is given to partners of the women who have participated in our women's programme however all men are welcome to apply.
Must have a school age child living at home
Must not be living an observant Jewish life.
The trip in Israel is fast paced and emotionally charged, so applicants must be in good mental and physical health.
Costs associated with the programme:
Momentum participation fee of US$1,000 (for parenting partners of Orah Sydney alumni) or US$1,400 for all other men
Momentum acceptance fee of US$360
Momentum fully refundable deposit US$500
Orah Sydney Year of Learning Programme AUD$2,500
Participants must pay for their own airfares, and related costs such as travel insurance, some meals etc.
Commitment to participate is for a period of 12 months, including 3 pre-trip meetings, 8 days in Israel from 20 - 27 May 2024, and available to attend monthly group learning sessions as a group over the next 12 months following the trip. This is a fun, social way to meet like-minded men and form new solid connections.
