The purpose of Orah Sydney is to spread light upon the mothers in Sydney's Jewish community, and in doing so ignite their souls so they can thrive, enrich their family and build a stronger community.
We are a modern orthodox organisation with an approach that fosters unity, without uniformity, to light the way to ignite the Jewish mind, body and soul for Sydney parents.
Orah was founded in 2014 by Ariane Schneider who saw an opportunity for the Sydney Jewish community to benefit in participating with the globally run Momentum Unlimited- MOMentum Year-Long Journey, whose sole purpose remains today inspire Jewish mothers to live a more meaningful and connected jewish life.
In recent years Orah's programme offering has extended to a Men's Year-Long Journey (for the husbands of the women that have participated in the MOMentum Year-Long Journey) and Momentum Grand (for women that do not meet the eligibility requirements of the main women's programme).
The Orah Sydney sisterhood is now over 130 women strong who continue to meet after the completion of their year of learning at shiurims, chesed activities and social get-togethers.
OUR MISSION: To provide education and meaningful experiences to parents that inspire them to live a more purposeful and connected Jewish life.
In 2019, Ariane and her husband fulfilled their dream and made Aliyah. Orah Sydney is now run by Sue Morris, with Julie Klimt as her deputy.
