In May 2016, 24 Sydney women met at Ben Gurion airport in Tel Aviv to begin the experience of a life time. Some of us knew each other, some of us knew a few and some of us knew many. By the end of our journey bonds and friendships had been formed which we believe will stretch across the rest of lives. You cannot participate in this trip without changing on some level, be it a subtle internal change only you are aware of or an absolute epiphany that provides new meaning to your life and will resonate out to all your loved ones and beyond. Without realising it, you look deeply at yourself, at your relationships with your family, your partner, your friends, your community, your G-d, your beliefs.
The Momentum trip is a non stop whirlwind, in a little more than a week we travelled from the North to the South of Israel, we went on trips to Masada, the Dead Sea, Yad Vashem, an army base, we visited the Kotel - many times, we experienced Shabbat in Jerusalem with hundreds of women, we sang and danced like never before. We had classes with inspirational teachers and speakers that were over all too soon, and throughout this there was constant laughter, love, tears, unadulterated joy and little sleep. We wouldn't have had it any other way and would go on the trip again and again in a heartbeat. There is no better way to experience Israel, Judaism and the bonds of female friendship.
